First establish which files were examined
A review requires the complete report, appendices and information about the recording versions. A segment, a forwarded file and the source file may have different parameters and histories. If they are not identified, it is difficult to check which material the answer concerns.
Separate technical tasks from speech tasks
Content analysis does not automatically establish the absence of editing, and technical continuity does not confirm the identity of every participant. Conclusions must match the areas of examination and the actions actually performed.
- Is the recording's source clear?
- Is the transcript kept separate from the source audio?
- Are the transformations and the copy's limitations described?
- Is the degree of certainty of the answer concerning the entire file justified?
An observation is linked to a specific method, segment and effect on the result. An assumption about a different reading of an utterance must not be presented as a repeat examination that has actually been performed.
